Tell me about your lands!
I’m off to the New England area tomorrow for 9 days. It’s for a school (master of architecture) trip. Stops include Portland, Exeter, Salem (MA), Boston, Provincetown, Nantucket, Bristol, and New Haven (CT).

I think it’s a lot like New Brunswick.

I’d recommend Providence too if you have the time. It’s a really great city, the East Side is full of great stuff, and all the college kids just went home for the summer so it’s hella empty.
Oh, and Salem MA is a favorite of my wife and her witch friends. Definitely worth the trip.

And Mystic CT, great little port city.

The Merritt Parkway in CT is easily one of the prettiest bits of road in the world.
Also, if you’re in Provincetown, head down to Wellfleet and go to Bookstore & Restaurant and get the fish pot. It’s easily the single greatest meal I’ve ever had in my life. It’s like a boulliabaise, but better.

We’re actually staying in Wellfleet, so I’ll give it a shot! Thanks

Also, if you like raw oysters, Wellfleets are the best in the world.

Welcome to the grand state of New York. Like New Jersey, except it has less chemical waste, and is actually worth going to

Boston - great city to wander. Where aboots are you going to be?
Bristol CT? home of ESPN.
New Haven, most touristy thing is to get some pizza at Pepe, Modern or a burger at Louis’ Lunch

Any cheap and cheerful places to eat in Providence? Good architecture to keep an eye out for?

Good call. All the places you listed are nice. Provincetown is the only one that's kind of out there, allllll the way around the cape if you're driving, but you can take a ferry from Boston.

If you’re going to be near Bridgeport you need to stop here

Nantucket is a real gem if you can look past the posers. There are tons of nice restaurants, ( Black Eye Susan’s, Bartlett Farms, and Island Kitchen) but some can be quite pricey. Feel free to ask any questions, I will probably know the answer. Have fun!

I’m in high school, and went on an Italian field trip to
ride authentic Gondola’s
in Providence (The historical part of the area and the Gondola’s themselves is amazing, and doesn’t take too long)! After we had learned about the Gondolas and Gondoliers, and heard their singing, and eaten their wine cookies; we went to
DePasquale Plaza
to eat authentic Italian food at
several different restaurants/bakeries
. I got a Chicken Parmesan sandwhich that was BIG, and took a while to eat, but I wasn’t extremely full. I would have gotten more, but there was sooooooooo much! I highly recommend it. the links will take you to the Gondola website (reservations are required), the many different restaurants in the plaza area, and reviews by people who have gone to the Plaza (my review should be on there in about two days).
The Italian restaurants have original Italian/European styling, and some artwork is painted on one particular restaurant.

I live closer to Mystic than Providence, and I’ll tell you that you should visit
Old Mystic Village
. It’s a small part of the original small town stores. They are historical and have some of the most classic archutecture!
